Adel's develepment
Adel is almost 2 months now. Current weight is 4.2kg.
He has been smiling, not a lot though. Or it might just be wind, like the midwife said.
He also has some syllabus blurted out sometimes when he feels like it. His famous words are "eh" and "kuu"
He can recognize his Mama & Papa's voice & face.
He can stare at us.
He cries, but not so much. Only when he is really really hungry, or else he'll just stare at you with his mouth pouting.
He hates tummy time.
He likes to listen to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Wheels on the Bus, Head & Shoulder & Chicken Dance.
He hasn't been sick at all.
Has been to the mall several times and has been a very very good boy. Except for last week. We went to Tea Tree Plaza. I wanted to buy a birthday gift for my DH. At first I didnt want him to follow, so I said I want to leave Adel with him and I'll just go out with my SIL. But he insisted on following, or else I can't go out. That's why he followed, but I send him off together with SIL to watch a movie as a pre-birthday gift. So as I was trying different hats for Adel in Pumpkin Patch, he started screaming. And there I was all alone with Adel, I tried to comfort him by giving his pacifier, but he kept on screaming. Thankfully the first thing I do when I went to a mall is to look at the directory for parent's room. With one hand holding Adel, and the other hand pushing the stroller, I quickly went to the parent's room, passing through a crowd of people at the food court. As I was approaching the parent's room, I put Adel back in the stroller, and he screamed louder than before. But after giving him bf, he was very quiet. So, my mistake. He was very hungry. I forgot to check the time. He normally feeds every 3-4 hours. My bad.
Anyway, he is a premature baby. He is about 2 months early than his due date, so the doc said his development might be delayed for about 2 months.

ReplyDeleteDevelopmental delay in preemie itu biasa. Tp jangan risau kalau ko tengok development dia lambat lebih dari 2-3 bulan. Each baby ada dia punya own schedule.
Maryam mmg lambat dalam banyak benda compared to other kids her age, tp ada juga yg dia lagi cepat dari budak yg non-preemie. And after 14 mths, dia nye schedule dah on track. walaupun ada lagi yg lambat.
Raising a preemie actually is just like raising any other normal babies. Mungkin easier, sbb lambat, jd dia lagi baik. hoho!
